Chiapas and the Sacred River trip 2009

We landed in Villahermosa about midnight on the 12th of February and were met at the airport by our two guides Steve Carr From Chicago and Ricardo, our in Country Host, from Merida. We had managed to negotiate the Mexico City airport Without a disaster (no mean task for non Spanish speakers) and were very happy to have a place to sleep. Most of the group were to arrive late in the afternoon on the that day, so those of us that were there did a walking tour of the city. We took a taxi to the City market. The markets are always interesting places to visit. So much variety From pottery to dried fish and on to the local eatery.

The local eatery was on the upper floor of the market, giving one a nice view of the activities below.

  2. Looks Great! It's OK even if you can't post very many pictures on the blog heading. We look forward to reading and seeing more and more and more!!! Milt and Debbie

  3. Wow! I like your blog! That opening picture of Mom with the statues had me looking twice! The pictures are great and the narration is just the right length. I'm really looking forward to reading more. You might look for an option called "Text Wrapping". In Word you would right click on a picture and open properties. Text wrapping lets you control how the text flows around the picture.
